As a Marketing and Communications Assistant, I was responsible for a variety of roles regarding brand identity, event planning, email marketing, digital marketing, and creating other design collateral for the institute's initiatives, programs, events/anniversaries, webinars, symposiums, etc. Whether it be creating business cards for CITRIS directors, or serving as the Brand Lead for a symposium sponsored by companies such as Meta and Agilent—I gained experience within project management, social media marketing, cross-functional communications, as well as spearheaded the development of various projects from concept to production with minimal supervision. Below are some of my favorite projects!

20th Anniversary Logo Animation
In commemoration of CITRIS' two decades of entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary research collaboration, I was tasked to recreate our original logo. I had the privilege of working alongside a brilliant animator, Dan Chapman, to bring the logo to life; it was used across all four UC campuses, featured in our 20th Anniversary video, incorporated into email signatures that our faculty still use, published within marketing collateral, among other branding details.
This project was one of my favorite creative challenges and I am grateful for my supervisor, Cheryl Martinez, for this opportunity!
Diversity in Tech Symposium 2022
As the Brand Lead for the annual Diversity in Tech Symposium, my efforts to engage audiences and drive website traffic demonstrate my ability to connect with target audiences and achieve measurable results. As you can see, the branding assets were used interchangeably and served various design purposes. One thing I loved about this project was the fact that I created this branding kit that people across the four UC campuses (UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Merced) were able to use for the symposium. From our sponsors alone, we received $150k+ in donations! Thank you to our sponsors Meta, Siemens, Intel, SAP, Agilent, Berkeley Skydeck, and many more.
"Now in its sixth year, the annual Diversity in Tech Symposium (formerly Women in Tech) will highlight the experiences of experts working to advance innovation in clean energy, water conservation, food systems, disaster prediction, sustainable manufacturing and many other areas within their organizations. This event is devoted to world-changing technologies, featured panels, deep-dive breakout sessions with tech companies, a student career fair, and more."

Noteable Aggregates:
• Email CTR = 6.66%, ~11,500 audience size and 22,300+ impressions
• Website CTR = 17.7%
• LinkedIn Engagement Avg. = 5.30%

Moving forward, I have learned so much and gained invaluable experience within marketing collateral, branding identity, and event planning. Thank you to this symposium's events team and the CITRIS Communications team for all of the kind words and constructive criticism that came along the design journey.
Edge in Tech Symposium 2023
Coming up on my second year as Brand and Design Lead for the Edge in Tech Symposium, I have taken on a more project management approach. In addition to creating the visual brand identity of the symposium (color palette, logos/icons, creative direction, style), I have been translating feedback from various stakeholders and delegating tasks to my peer, Andrea. This process is still in the works and I am extremely grateful to my supervisor for allowing me this opportunity for leadership growth!
Foundry Rebrand
One of my favorite projects I worked on was the rebranding of the CITRIS Foundry logo. I was told that it shouldn't deviate too far from the original wordmark, as CITRIS' foundational elements as a brand required specifications that we were not allowed to change. The question I based my design process on was,
"How can we make the Foundry stand out and be more appealing to younger demographics, yet still appeal to the corporate environment?"
I had a bunch of ideas that we ultimately ruled out because of legality issues regarding us staying on brand (copyright). After more brainstorming and getting into detail about the final result, I decided that, to be more appealing yet on brand, I was going to have to challenge the ways in which people can view and interpret the word mark. I decided,
"How can the Foundry change its appearance without changing the core essence of what it represents?"
A lightbulb moment occurred. I realized that if I can't change the logo itself, how can I make it more dynamic?
Knowing this, I was inspired to explore the 3-dimensional aspect of the brand. Here are the side-by-side comparisons of the current Foundry logo (top) with the one I proposed (bottom).
Zoom Backgrounds
These Zoom backgrounds were part of the branding collateral I created in celebration of CITRIS' 20th anniversary. In addition to these backgrounds, I created email signatures, icons, and altered previous logos for all CITRIS staff, faculty, interns, and students to use as they pleased.
Tent Canopy Art
I was tasked to create a few variations for this tent canopy that was going to be used for outdoor CITRIS events. As shown in the image to the right, this was the final product in use by the Aviation initiative. I was ecstatic to see the digital image manifest into a physical object! This project was in addition to another larger project that I was working on at the time, so I was able to exercise my project management skills, as well as set my own timelines to ensure that all deliverables were executed with the highest quality output I was able to give.
